How It Works

How a Roofing Project Works With Us

Four parts, from the first look at the roof to the final walk around the house.

  1. 01

    Free Roof Inspection

We come out, inspect the roof and fly a drone over it. You get photos of what we found so you can see the condition for yourself.

  2. 02

    A Plain Recommendation

We tell you whether the roof needs a repair or a replacement and why, then give you an estimate for that work. If a repair will do, a repair is what we quote.

  3. 03

    The Work Itself

On a replacement the crew tears off the old roof, which exposes the decking, and builds the new system from the deck up. Reviewers describe the owner or the operations manager on site during the install, giving updates on progress.

  4. 04

    Cleanup and Walk-Around

The crew cleans up the property before leaving. Then we walk the finished job with you so you can see the work and ask anything.

I enjoyed working with Randy. Great price. Great work. He was punctual and his crew completed the job in one day. His crew spent close to an hour making sure the property was cleaned up after the job was finished. Randy was on sight during the day to inspect and provide updates on progress. He walked around the job with me upon completion to make sure I was satisfied with the work and clean up. Would highly recommend.

I had Randy from Home Fortress come out to take a look at my roof to make sure we were still in good space after all the storms this year. I really appreciated that he was honest and didn’t try to sell me a whole new roof when I didn’t need one. He found a few loose shingles and some nail pops, took care of the quick repairs, and explained everything clearly. It was refreshing working with someone who was more focused on fixing the problem than making a bigger sale. If you’re looking for someone who’s knowledgeable, easy to work with, and trustworthy, I’d definitely recommend Home Fortress.

I had an exceptional experience with Randy and his team from start to finish. The team is professional and courteous, and the project was completed on time. Randy communicated clearly every step of the way and answered my questions immediately. My roofing work was done with safety at the forefront and the work area was kept clean. It's refreshing to work with a company that values customer service, high-quality workmanship, and clear communication. I highly recommend Randy and his team!

Real Jobs

Recent Jobs: What We Found, What We Did

New Owens Corning Duration in Estate Gray roof on a home in Elkton, MD, aerial view after replacement

Elkton, MD

A homeowner in Elkton had been living with roof leaks for some time.

What we found: Once the old roof came off we could see the decking underneath, and the fascia around the perimeter had rotted.

What we did: The homeowners chose a full decking replacement in new plywood. We replaced the rotted fascia and wrapped it in custom-bent aluminum, upgraded the 5 inch gutters to continuous 6 inch K-style aluminum, and installed four VELUX skylights with solar-powered shades under a new Owens Corning Duration roof in Estate Gray.

Outcome: The homeowners sent us a message after completion to say how happy they were with the finished project.

New Owens Corning Duration in Brownwood roof on a home in Magnolia, DE, aerial view after replacement

Magnolia, DE

A Magnolia homeowner had a roof more than 20 years old with several active leaks.

What we found: The roof went on before ice and water shield became a standard part of a roofing system. The leaks ran around the roof perimeter and had led to areas of wood rot.

What we did: We replaced the entire roof with a complete Owens Corning Duration roofing system, using Owens Corning components from start to finish.

Outcome: The house now has a new roof in Brownwood built to handle Delaware weather.

New Owens Corning Duration in Williamsburg Gray roof on a Parkside home in Middletown, DE, rear view after replacement

Middletown, DE

Homeowners in the Parkside community decided it was time to upgrade their roof.

What we found: The original builder-grade shingles had taken repeated wind damage over the years.

What we did: We replaced the roof with Owens Corning Duration shingles in Williamsburg Gray.

Outcome: The new color suits the house and brings out the shutters, and the old wind-damaged shingles are gone.
